Nvidia graphic cards compatibility.? - how to find out what series my nvidia nforce chipset is
I just got the new NVIDIA GeForce GT 240, but I can not work. After inserting the card does not come on the screen and the BIOS seems weird, I think my motherboard is too old for this card, but I'm not sure how NVIDIA's web site is not enough "information about video cards and motherboards on compatibility.
I have ASUS M2N-TE 5 with NVIDIA nForce chipsets
Processor: 2.20 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core
Drivers:
NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller (2x)
Primary IDE Channel [Controller] (2x)
Secondary IDE Channel [Controller] (2x)
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller (2x)
Do I need a new motherboard to change the BIOS, or what?

Your board has a slot PCIe 1.0 is compatible with the card you have ... The GT 240 is 2.0 ... and that's good .... recommended to run a source of 450W of power to the card .... and you need 1.6-pin power connector to get the power supply into the back of the card ..... Plugs
If you do not run the custom card and the BIOS screen can ........... arise if you do not check all the connections and make sure the card is the right place ... even if a video card that you disable in the BIOS .... If you try to start to load, if so, the driver and began to go .....
If not, make sure that your diet is sufficient to run and have the 6-pin power connector ......

------ EDIT ahh ok no power connections booster thats good ... 650W PSU is more than enough power to run .... you try your old card and see if it works ... or is a better way, if you can borrow a video card to friends and see if it works....
If you do not have access to another card, I would say that the card is DOA in any case .... rma time for it .....
